I really dislike my clock radio. Analog radios in general are difficult to manage, what with the need to get the dial just right to pick up a station. And if you bump it while hitting the snooze, you might get the dial out of place and be stuck with mangled static.
So when I lived with Martha, she was highly amused that my alarm was just static, on purpose. It’s still a jarring noise, but smoother and more consistent than picking the beeping option.
Ever since Nick left, I’ve been going with the static again, and it’s been good. Two days ago, however, a shocking thing happened: the dial was shifted enough to land on an actual station! I have no idea which one it is, but they play pretty intense music, even at 6am, so it’s probably 93X. Maybe in a few days it’ll be back to static.
