If you know me well, you know I love old movies. It’s not everyday that the average 24-year-old’s favorite movie include the “Wizard of Oz”,” Casablanca”,” Singin’ in the Rain”, and “Bringing Up Baby”. My love of movies started when I made the goal to watch all of the AFI’s top 100 movies. I haven’t made it through the list, but I’m close and when I finish I will give you the low down of the movies you should see and which ones you shouldn’t.
Last night I watched “The Apartment” with Jack Lemmon and Shirley MacLaine. I thought was a good movie and I was rooting for the two to fall in love throughout the whole movie. MacLaine’s acting was great and you really felt for her and how she was pushed around by the married executive. This movie also confirmed that Lemmon is a great actor, and can do more than just “Grumpy Old Men”. Another Lemmon classic and one I would highly recommend, “Some Like it Hot”.
Current chick-flicks have nothing on the classic ones. -Kelly
