My mom taught me a new way to make brownies yesterday. It sounds very weird, and I can guarantee Kelly will never try it, but here goes.
Take a box of brownie mix. Empty in bowl. Pour one can black beans (not drained) into Cuisenart. Puree. Add beans to brownie mixture. Grease pan and bake.
So no egg, no oil. Lots of healthy protein. And the brownies still definitely taste like chocolate. The texture does change though, not in a very obviously, but it does.
I don’t think my mom will repeat the trick, but it raises an interesting question: Are there other weird, healthy fixes to foods out there?
