It’s barely May but I’m well into my 2011 Wedding Season. This past weekend was the one in NJ which was likely to be full of drama. Well, there was indeed tons of drama. But it all happened Friday night, and Saturday, and Sunday morning, so I only saw the last bit of “what could possibly go wrong” actually go wrong.
There is no way you could have asked for better wedding for the location. Absolutely beautiful. 70 degrees, sunny, with a slight breeze. Naturally, I got a mondo sunburn on my shoulders, with distinct redness on my arms and face. From a normal guest perspective, everything went great.
Things that did not go great: a groomsman bailed on the rehearsal, the flowers that didn’t freeze were knocked over in the car (water and all), and the bride was livid that the cake was not what she ordered (square instead of round). And then the venue started encouraging everyone to leave because their time was up (supposedly). It was quite the weekend.
